Julio Le Parc is one of the most prominent artists of optical and kinetic art. He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Argentina, where he began his interest in the relationship between light and form. Thanks to a grant from the French Cultural Service, in 1958 he travelled to Paris, where he came into contact with artists such as Victor Vasarely and other important representatives of kinetic art. Later he participated in the Atelier Populaire during the French May of 1968 and in various radical avant-garde publications, consolidating his production, always close to kineticism, in a social and political commitment that conceives viewers not only as participants in the work, but as co-authors.
He currently lives and works in Paris, France.
